Re: Monetary mod

Well, I'm afraid it's still downloading 1.21. It won't update from within the game, either. Cliff has looked into it, but I don't think he's able to help. And now that I'm in the middle of my mid-term exams, I think I'm going to officially give up. Several people have asked me to e-mail them everyth...

Re: Monetary mod

Okay, things are nearly back on track. Cliff has e-mailed me and he's sorting out Gamersgate for me!

I'll try to update more regularly!

Re: Monetary mod

Hi Seamus, Sorry for the lack of updates! I had... "paused" development while I waited for the new patch (1.23) to be released on the Gamersgate version. I didn't want to update all of the databases only to have them incompatible with most people's versions (because I was planning to chang...

Re: New patch available (1.23)

Hi, Cliffski!

Gamersgate download is STILL giving me 1.21, not 1.23!

Sorry to be a pain!

Re: UK and the EU - better off out?

Hi, rboni Interesting point! But you only mention imports - what of UK exports? The UK wouldn't have access to the single-market if it wasn't in the EU. Or if it did get access to the single-market, it would suffer the problem of "fax democracy" which the Swiss and the Norgwegians are faci...

Re: Monetary mod

Hi, Seamus! Don't worry, I'm not killing the mod off just yet! I've actually been putting a fair bit of work in. If I do stop working on it, I'll be sure to e-mail you what I've got. At the moment - I'm right in the middle of my exams, and they're fairly punishing. My exams finish in February and th...

Re: Monetary mod

Well - I'm obviously not going to get this finished by tomorrow! :D I'm right in the middle of my exams, and they're obviously distracting me a bit from modding. I have two weeks off at the end of February, so I might try to work on it then. I'd wanted to have something finished by Obama's inaugurat...

Re: Monetary mod

Okay, I'm refining the policies I will be including based on what the D2 engine can actually simulate. SIMULATION: 1) Consumer Price Index 2) Imports 3) Exports I will remove Foreign Trade, as Imports and Exports will now handle its function. I'm also looking at reworking GDP and its relation to the...

Re: Monetary mod

Cheers, Bruno! Thanks for the support! So, I guess I'll tell people what I've been up to. I've managed to clear out the D2 engine of all polices, simulation objects, dilemnas, etc. Anything I couldn't delete, I've hidden. The game screen looks like a blank canvas now. And I've been filling it with m...

Re: Separating investment and high street banks

The US did something like this during the Great Depression in 1933 with the Glass-Steagall Act, seperating commercial banks from investment banks, but the act was weakened in the 80s and then finally repealed in 1999. The main argument for repealing the act seems to have been that US banks were losi...
